Marr Area Partnership is a community development organisation which supports the people and communities of Marr Area of Aberdeenshire. The aim of Marr Area Partnership is to encourage and enable the economic, environmental and social future of this beautiful part of the country by supporting communities to achieve and maintain sustainable development. It is a registered charity, managed by a board of volunteer representatives from communities and partner agencies, working with two part time Development Officers.
Marr Area Partnership has web links to many community groups and other useful organisations throughout Marr. Click on the map to find out what is going on in your area and access any help that you need.
We support the communities across Marr in various ways. We hold quarterly community ward forums to provide community councils and community groups with the opportunity to discuss local issues with each other as well as with service providers and agencies. Community action planning is a process which establishes the needs and aspirations of local people to improve services and facilities within their own community. Click below to find out more.
Marr Area Partnership has grants of up to £750 available for community projects in Marr, with money provided by Aberdeenshire Council’s Marr Area Committee. Grants under this scheme have a focus on projects which support any aspect of sustainable development within communities. If related to larger schemes the grant can be used for project start-up costs or to help groups develop a project idea. Involvement in the grant scheme also enables us to support, advise and help with the development of project aims and/or management.
