Alford Heritage Museum
Alford Heritage Museum is an renowned local attraction much loved by generations. In recent times, they faced hefty building repair costs, a requirement to form a new board and covid-19 restricting visitor access.

MAP supported them in administrative issues and applying for appropriate funds. The future for this cultural centre is now looking bright.
Talking Supporting Men
We worked with Marr Community Planning Group and NHS to deliver a mental health initiative for men. In Scotland last year almost three times the number of men took their own lives as women (The Scotsman, 24th November 2020).
Alford Men's Shed
Mens Sheds have been a countrywide success and Alfords is a shining example of such an organisation. A combination of strong membership and hard work has resulted in a self-built extension and allotments.

Funds were secured from the Climate Challenge Fund to enable the work to be carried out and the allotments have show to be very 'fruitful': 1.4 tonnes of fresh vegetables were harvested between the months of June and September.
Aboyne Breastfeeding Group
Being a mum can be a daunting experience but this group aims to support parents and their little ones. MAP funding has empowered them to organise fund raising events, buy instructional material and be entertained by a story teller.
Tarland Development Group
From bike trails to bees, from tapestry to compost, MAP has supported Tarland Development Group (TDG) for well over 15 years. Support from Development Officers and IGS funding have been invaluable in making things happen in Tarland.
Spikin' Autism
This friendly peer support group was started by mums that wanted to chat to others who understood the challenges they faced with their children who had additional support needs. MAP has supplied them with funds for equipment and they spoke movingly at our AGM.
Logie Coldstone Curling Club
This village club aims to keep this 16th century sport and it's traditions alive and is a focal point for the community. MAP awarded a grant to install a compost toilet to make the bothy more family friendly.
Braemar Care
Braemar Care was established as a result of a need identified in the Braemar Community action plan. The project provides local carers to help the vulnerable folk within the community. MAP have supported them in areas of funding and in formulating their structure and constitution.
Alford Valley Railway
MAP supported a local group to undertake a feasibility study for the reinstatement of the former AVR.
Covid Resilience Working Group
MAP contributed to this working group alongside community partners. They included Aberdeenshire council, health and social care, community learning and development plus aberdeenshire voluntary action group. It gave us the opportunity to share how groups we support were fairing in the pandemic and inform the council what assistance they needed.

Aberdeenshire Council also launched the Grampian Coronavirus Assistance Centre. We enabled the local coronavirus support groups to register so they could be easily contacted by those in need.
